Eve Unlocks Her Lips On Interracial Dating, Female Rap Feuds & DMX's Substance Abuse
In the latest issue of ROLLING OUT, Eve opens up about the backlash she got for dating outside her race, reveals her thoughts on female rap feuds and shares her thoughts on DMX and his substance abuse woes. Though Eve's latest album, Liplock, wasn't released with the fanfare of her previous recordings, the rapstress' return is marked by an openness about her career, her love life and her thoughts on the industry.
For the latest issue of ROLLING OUT, she opens up about her love life with millionaire MaxAMillion and questions the hate she received for daring to date outside her race. She pointedly asks, ""Would you rather me date someone, like my ex [Stevie J], just because he’s black? Or would you rather me be happy?"
She also talked about rap beefs (mainly among the females) and revealed her close relationship to rapper DMX. Here are the highlights:
On Why Women Should Look At Themselves When Dating:
"My perspective on men has definitely changed,” she admits. "I’ve dated some ridiculous dudes. For women, if you are frustrated and keep attracting the same type of dude over and over again, it is not the dude, it is you. That is something I had to learn. I needed to figure out who I was and what I wanted before I attracted the guy I needed to be with.”
On Interracial Dating:
"I never thought I would date outside of my race,” Eve admits. "I never thought it would seriously be something that I considered because of where we come from. Interracial dating is still not as prevalent in our community. But when I met him, it was something that was so familiar. We recognize each other in a deeper way. If somebody is treating me the way I’m supposed to be treated, who cares what race he happens to be? It took a while for us to get comfortable, but when things got serious, we went for it. On Nicki Minaj and Azealia Banks:
"I’m not everyone’s cup of tea and Nicki’s not everyone’s cup of tea,” she says. ”That’s life. You’re not going to listen to every single artist that comes out. But obviously, Nicki has a huge fan base and she’s doing her thing. So what does one person’s opinion mean? I think people just take stuff too far. Some of the new girls that are coming up are dope. Azealia Banks has a lot of cute wordplay. It’s a new generation and it’s cool with me.”
On DMX's Issues with Substance Abuse:
”DMX is my dog,” She says. "He’s the most special person I’ve ever met, honestly. It’s unfortunate that he’s going through those things. The last time I saw him was when we did the BET Hip-Hop Awards cypher. Anytime that I spend with him and get to talk with him is the best. But X is X. If you know him, you can’t tell him anything and you can’t suggest anything, X is going to do whatever he wants to do. But I’m sure he’ll get better. That’s just his process.”

Is M.A.C., Rihanna, or Customer to Blame for Contracting Herpes From Lipstick Line?
It’s safe to say there is someone out there who isn’t to happy with ‘someone’s lipstick. Starkeema Greenridge has filed a lawsuit against MAC Cosmetics, for allegedly contracting herpes after trying on Rihanna’s RiRi Woo lipstick. So how in the world did THAT happen? During the concert at the Barclay’s Center, Greenridge says a MAC representative applied an unsanitized tube of the lipstick to her lips. Days later her lip was ‘irritated and hugely swollen’ and after going to the doctor she was diagnosed with herpes. According to TMZ, the lawsuit states:
The MAC artist didn’t use a fresh or new lipstick tube, but rather one that had been used for other patrons.
Greenridge added:
"I wasn’t able to work for two weeks. It cost me a lot of money. This is going to happen over and over again if nothing is done.
She is suing for the company (not Rihanna) for an undisclosed amount of money, lost wages, and mental anguish. She also added that she asked the representative if the lipstick in question was clean and they insisted that it was. Yikes! Rihanna has yet to comment and MAC spokesperson said in an statement:
Consumer safety is a top priority at MAC Cosmetics, and we take these matters very seriously. We are closely reviewing these claims.”

RiRi Woo launched in early May and sold out in three hours. The lipstick will relaunch again in June. But who is to blame here? MAC, Starkeema or Rihanna?
Lauryn Hill Responds to Accusations that Her New Song Is Anti-Gay
*Lauryn Hill has been accused of incorporating anti-gay lyrics into one of her new songs.
In “Neurotic Society (Compulsory Mix),” the 38-year-old activist sings about the perils of society.
In addition to making references about psychological massacre and superficial vanity, Hill’s songs seem to include anti-gay statements, slamming ”drag queens,” “girl men” and ”social transvestism,” BET’s Monica Miller notes.
Though she’s a musician who consistently advocates on behalf of the oppressed, Hill “might not extend her concerns to gay and lesbian communities,” Miller writes.
Via BET: Whether or not Hill is merely using these comments as examples of the smokescreens and sleight-of-hands that pervade this “Neurotic Society” is unclear. Beyond intention, these sorts of statements suggest that society is in a shambles because it’s been taking too many cues from the LGBTQ community, acting like “girl men,” “drag queens” and “transvestites.” Is her beef with oppressive society or is her issue with people who don’t abide by a traditional family structure? Hill raps about “drag queens” after naming “greedy men and pride fiends.” She also mentions “social transvestism” and “subliminal dressed up as piety.”
In a May 6 post on her website, Hill elaborated on the meaning behind “Neurotic Society.”
“I love being able to reach people directly, but in an ideal scenario, I would not have to rush the release of new music… but the message is still there,” she wrote about dropping her new single with Sony. “In light of Wednesday’s tragic loss (of former label mate Chris Kelly), I am even more pressed to YELL this to a multitude that may not understand the cost of allowing today’s unhealthy paradigms to remain unchecked!”

Beyonce Reportedly “Furious” Over Retouched H&M Ads
After striking a few sultry poses for H&M’s new swimsuit collection, Beyonce Knowles is reportedly upset to learn that the retail giant made a few changes to her “Bootylicious” bod.
According to the New York Daily News, the “Single Ladies” songstress was not thrilled when she learned that H&M retouched the original shots from her campaign.
Reports continue that Beyonce only approved the use of original, non-altered shots from her beach-inspired photo session.
“When Beyoncé found out they had edited the way her body really looked, she hit the roof," a source told The Sun. "She's a true diva and was furious that she had been given such a snubbing. Her people refused to give the pictures the green light so H&M were forced to use the originals."
A spokesman for the clothing company explained, "As with all campaigns there are discussions on which images should be used. Both H&M and Beyoncé are very happy with the final result.”

Is Obama Conspiring Against Tavis or is Smiley Just Trippin’?
*In light of President Obama and the White House’s apparent miss-steps regarding the IRS and other scandals, the prez’s black haters are starting to pile on.
To them, nothing could be more convincing of Obama’s disdain for the black community than his so-called covert conspiracy against Tavis Smiley to have sponsors/advertisers stop funding Smiley’s ventures, including his anti-poverty initiatives.
Blogger Eric Wattree takes the whole conspiracy thing and turns it on its head which is pretty simple to do because it doesn’t make one iota of sense.

As Cottman alluded to in his commentary, the mere fact that Tavis failed to identify exactly who in the Obama administration “convinced sponsors” to stop funding his ventures, and exactly which sponsors he’s talking about, is particularly telling. That’s not like Smiley. If he had any evidence whatsoever to support his allegation he’d be holding one of his PBS “gibfests,” complete with “expert analysis” by the prince of gesticular verbosity, Dr. Cornel West, pointing his finger at the president, and condemning the people in the administration who were involved.
Because the fact is, even if the corporations involved didn’t want to reveal themselves, he could have at least attributed his allegation to “a source who wants to remain anonymous.”
But why would Tavis’s corporate benefactors even want to hide the fact that they were being pressured by Obama? Trying to put pressure on Walmart, Nationwide Insurance, or Exxon/Mobile would not only be extremely dumb on the part of the administration, but it would be a gift from God to Tavis’s ALEC connected corporate benefactors. Can you just imagine what Darrell Issa could do with something like that in his House Oversight Kangaroo Committee? He’d turn it into Watergate.
Miguel FACING "POSSIBLE" Lawsuit OVER "DROP" Kick
"#Beautiful" crooner Miguel may face some serious legal action following an accident during his performance of "Adorn" at the 2103 Billboard Awards. Fans will recall that the energetic singer attempted to leap over a mosh pit of audience members but mistakenly landed on the head of Khyati Shah. Although Khyati said she was "ok" during post show interviews, her lawyer, Vip Bhola, told E! News that she has been experiencing "difficulties" as a result of the incident and may pursue legal recourse.
When ask specifically for a possible timeline for filing the suit, Vip said, "We will determine that after we have feedback from medical providers." So far, reps for Miguel have not commented on any possible legal action. So much for Blacks being judgemental because that white lady is about to get PAID from you.
Lets see How did Tyler Perry's "The Haves And The Have Nots" do on OWN!
Last week, Tyler Perry’s first series for Oprah Winfrey’s cable network OWN debuted. And of course, we all want to know, how he faired in the ratings department.
According to Deadline, the drama The Haves And The Have Nots opened with as 1.77 million viewers at 9 PM and another 1.8 million for a second original episode at 10 PM.
That was down from the debuts of Perry’s comedy series on TBS but marked the highest rated series debut in OWN’s history.
After the episode aired, Tyler penned a personal message, thanking viewers.
Hey guys, ALL I CAN SAY IS THANK YOUI can’t even find the proper words to tell you how much I appreciate you. Last night, millions of you watched The Haves And The Have Nots. Out of all of the choices you have, you are still standing with me. I wish you could see me smiling right now. It humbles me and brings water to my eyes when I think about what God has done in my life through you… JESUS!!! WOW!
If I could tell you the stories of this cast, the struggles, the fights, the worry and the difficulity that they have had in this business trying to get a break, it would blow your mind. Meanwhile, his second new show, ‘Love Thy Neighbor‘ was the second highest rated series premiere in OWN network history. 1.65 million viewers tuned into the first episode and 1.8 million watched the second.

Gathering to show off their latest work, the stars of “The Internship” were on hand for its Hollywood premiere in Westwood , CA
The comedy’s male leads, Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn, posed together for the shutterbugs in front of the Regency Village Theatre before heading inside for the big reveal.
Dressed in their finest frocks for the big night, Rose Byrne and Jessica Szohr floated down the arrivals carpet, briefly stopping to oblige the crowd.
