Beyonce Talks Jay-Z’s New Album Magna Carta Holy Grail
Beyonce posted a picture on her IG of young Jay-Z with the caption Bow Down “platinum” not much more needed with this picture and the caption. July 9th, 2013 is the official release date of Jay-Z’s 12th solo album “Magna Carta Holy Grail” and even before it was released it’s already been certified platinum. The RIAA presented the hip-hop mogul with a platinum plaque for 1 million copies sold of Magna Carta Holy Grail. It marks his 12th platinum album to date.
Samsung purchased 1 million copies of the album and gave them away to their mobile users for free via the Magna Carta app on Google Play.
Jay-Z prompted the RIAA to change its certification policy, which previously required that albums be available for 30 days prior to certification. The new policy counts digital album sales immediately upon release.
Despite its pre-release, MCHG is still expected to sell around 450,000 copies in its first week.

‘R&B Divas LA’ Cast Kicks Off New Show With Hollywood Premiere Party
As you know, similar to sequels, spin-offs can do REALLY good or REALLY bad. And fans of TV One’s R&B Divas franchise are anxiously awaiting to see how the LA version fairs, against it’s ATL counterpart.
The network held a swanky, private premiere party for the new show (JB was their taking in a bit of celebrity stalking) at West Hollywood’s London hotel, with the entire cast-Kelly Price, Lil Mo, Dawn Robinson, Chante Moore, Michele and Claudette Ortiz-in the building. The show’s executive producer, Phil Thornton, was present, along with Faith Evans and Nicci Gilbert who are cast members of the ATL version. We also spotted Claudia Jordan, Jamaal Buster, Torrei Hart, Laurieann Gibson, Breesha Webb (who hosted the event) and Tearra Mari.

One well-heeled prospective buyer told me she had concerns over whether or not Tameka would leave the home voluntarily if the sale goes through. Property taxes are $55K annually.

A cozy blanket, red wine, fruit, ’90s R&B playing on my iPod. I don’t think you need much else.
Gay men are drawn to you and empowered by you, as they have been to “gay icons” Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand, Cher , and Madonna. What is it about you, and those women, that gay men love?
I’m flattered if I’m in the company of those great women. I think they love that we are bold, unafraid to love, and flaunt our sexuality and strength.
Some were critical at your participating in a Pepsi campaign after you moved your body for childhood obesity. Where is the balance between your career objectives and your philanthropy?
Pepsi is a brand I’ve grown up seeing my heroes collaborate with. The company respects musicians and artistry. I wouldn’t encourage any person, especially a child, to live life without balance. When you work out, take care of your body, rehearse as hard as I rehearsed in the commercial, I think it’s great to have a Pepsi or Diet Pepsi when you want one. It’s all about choices.
You have always carefully sculpted your image and controlled public access to your off-stage life. Is there anything to envy about stars who don’t care about safeguarding their private lives?
I have chosen to keep certain aspects of my life private. But I also love sharing what makes me happy, especially through photography.
What’s boring to you?

Jennifer Lopez Reveals She Was Homeless at 18
*In a new interview with W Magazine, Jennifer Lopez says that a disagreement with her mother left her briefly homeless at 18.
The Bronx-born actress said she wanted to pursue a career in show business despite her family’s disapproval.
“My mom and I butted heads,” Lopez tells W’s August issue. “I didn’t want to go to college — I wanted to try dance full-time. So she and I had a break. I started sleeping on the sofa in the dance studio. I was homeless, but I told her, ‘This is what I have to do.’ A few months later, I landed a job dancing in Europe . When I got back, I booked ‘In Living Color.’ I became a Fly Girl and moved to L.A.
J.Lo said it took a while for her to get used to the West Coast.
“I hated L.A. Los Angeles , but it doesn’t give me strength the way the Bronx did. All the strength that I needed for life, I got from that neighborhood.”
Now a mom herself, Lopez knows that she is setting an example for her 5-year-old twins Max and Emme, whom she had with ex-husband Marc Anthony.
“I think a lot about teaching my kids to work hard,” Lopez says. “I’ve learned something about kids — they don’t do what you say; they do what you do. I watched my parents. My dad worked nights, and I was aware of how much he was doing for us. My mom was a Tupperware lady and also worked at the school. I always felt that I couldn’t let them down,” she adds. “And I had a natural discipline from early on. I was always training for something.”
Lopez visited her childhood home in the Bronx for the cover story. She admitted to being a bit nervous about her return, citing that the last time she was there was when her “mom and dad called us home to tell us that they were separating after 33 years of marriage.”
50 Cent Says He's Re-Writing His Will, Claims It Was Marquis' Mom ACTING Like Her Son On Those Disgusting Texts

I told you about the leaked texts between 50 and his son Marquis. Fif disowned him in the tets, called him several names, cursed him out completely, and essentially said he doesn't want to have anything to do with him. And apparently, it was all due to some custody/visitation issues where 50 believed Marquis was playing games in not allowing his father to come see him.
Here's a refresher:
50 Cent: Tell your mother she won. She has you and ill make another. I will have nothing to do with you. Don’t text me ever again.
Marquise: U keep texting me lol
50 Cent: It’s cool I will never go out of my way again. You disrespectful little mother f*cker.
Marquise: Lol u never do I don’t know not that doesn’t even call there son for his birthday
Marquise: Or get him a gift for his b-day or for Christmas.
50 Cent: You are your mothers son. I don’t have a son anymore.
50 Cent: F*ck you all you want is a gift. Like your mother and your ungrateful sister.
50 Cent: Delete my number.
50 Cent: You never call what the f*ck I’m suppose to call you to give you something sorry
And it got much worse.
50 now owns up to the texts, but says he believes it was Marquis' mom, Shaniqua, acting like Marquis...all so she could sell the texts to a website. And he says he's re-writing his will....and giving most of his money to Tiffany Lighty, the daughter of his late long time manager Chris Lighty. (Oddly, Veronica, Chris' wife & Tiffany's mother, was involved in a bit of controversy surrounding Chris' suspicious death.)

People can often write in third person and it still actually be them on the texts. But apparently, 50 doesn't think so.

Fourth Of July Parade Confederate Watermelon Display dIsplaying WHITE HISTORY MONTH?
Town officials in Hope Mills, North Carolina, are fielding calls from irate residents after the town’s 4th of July parade featured an antique farm tractor flying a Confederate battle flag and towing a watermelon-filled trailer with a sign reading “White History Month: Hug WTE PPL.” For some reason, the callers said they thought the display might be racist. Town officials are considering instituting tighter rules on parade entry applications, possibly including a line about “no racist bullshit allowed, and don’t pretend your dogwhistle bullshit isn’t racist, you moron.”
According to the Fayette Observer, The tractor and trailer were among eight antique vehicles entered in the parade by Donnie Spell, who has participated in town parades “for years,” according to Hope Mills Parks and Recreation Department head Kenny Bullock, who also said that “he had asked a member of Spell’s family to take the signs down before the parade started,” and only learned that they were still on the trailer when people started calling his cell phone to complain during the parade.
Town officials told Durham TV station WTVD that Spell’s application for the parade entry said only that “he would be pulling an antique tractor with a sign that read: ‘Watermelons for sale.’” The TV station also spoke to a neighbor of Spell’s who “said he didn’t think the man was trying to be vicious or funny,” because that is the sort of stupid thing neighbors say to cover their friends’ obviously race-baiting asses.
In one of the least apt possible deployments of a cliché, Parks & Recreation head Bullock added,
“I feel like, in my opinion, I feel like there’s a time and a place for everything … Was the parade the place? I don’t think so.”
Dude, there really is such a thing as too much inclusiveness.
Online supporters of Mr. Spell insisted that he’s just a good ol’ boy never meanin’ no harm, and pretended that there was nothing racist about the signs, since the blacks have a history month and a cable network.
Maxwell announces Duet Album with Alicia Keys
Maxwell has just announced that him and Ms. Keys will be doing a duet album together, he revealed to Billboard.com that they are both in the studio creating some magic.
Maxwell said they are looking to go the Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terell route. He says “We got a thing musically,” explained Maxwell. “That’s like my little sister. What’s funny is Swizz [Beatz] is the champion of all of it… She’s someone that I trust. I’m like that, by the way. Most of the people you see working for me are actually with me. And I’m proud to say that I’ve known them 20 years almost.” That is a really cute concept, but for those that are worried about this and thinks to yourself, like I’m thinking… This won’t work….It probably won’t ever see the light of day.. Maxwell stay promising albums, but you never get them.. I like the idea.. I mean The Fire We Make is an excellent song. But doing a whole album…. I don’t think so…. His solo album is expected to be released at the end of the summer.
